Overview
After opening a string of successful multi-Michelin starred restaurants, Claude Bosi and his partner, Lucy Bosi, wanted to focus their next venture on something more personal. Josephine, so called after Claude’s grandmother, is an homage to his upbringing, showcasing the best of a particular French culinary tradition – the Lyonnaise bouchon.
After discussions with Claude and Lucy, the ambition for the identity became clear – capture the spirit of nostalgia. The restaurant transports guests from it’s London setting to that of a classic bouchon setting from Claude’s past, so we looked to create an identity that aligned with this. Personal, foreign, and with bags of charm. From crockery to interior furnishes, wine bottles to menus, signage to uniform, and even measuring rulers, no stone was left unturned in the creation of an identity that permeates the entire guest experience.
Josephine opened to critical acclaim and has quickly become not only a lauded local neighbourhood restaurant, but one that draws in visitors from much further afield too.
