Ikoyi burst onto the global gastronomic scene in 2017, quickly winning its first of two Michelin stars. As it has evolved, the restaurant has made a virtue of the inability to squarely categorise it’s type of cuisine. Despite broad influence being present, it stands alone as a restaurant offering a uniquely captivating take on culinary traditions of Africa, Asia and Europe.
The two founders, Jeremy and Iré commissioned us to create a brand identity for Ikoyi that helped capture this ambiguous spirit, allowing for a curious character to weave its way through the brand. By turning to deliberately abstract typographic compositions that blurred the lines between letterforms and pattern, we gave Ikoyi a distinct visual language that has become intrinsic to the guest experience.
