Overview
Inspired by the renowned Victorian civil engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the Brunel Building is the result of a longstanding collaboration between developer Derwent London, engineers Arup and architecture firm, Fletcher Priest. The building takes direct influence from Brunel’s masterpiece of engineering, Paddington Station, which is situated opposite.
With it’s exposed diagrid structure dominating the facade of the building, our approach focused on reframing the technical drawings by the architects and engineers to shine a light on the inherent beauty of them. This theme, combined with bespoke typography and a wide range of deliverables helped the building to achieve a fully pre-let occupancy – testament to the high quality, people-centred space that the building was designed for.
